How Deer & Doe was born?
We were aware that India is a country of vivid colours,luxurious textiles, and skilled karigars, but we stillcouldn’t locate an Indian company that catered tocontemporary men and women.Therefore, we considered bridging this gap by creatinga high-end Indian Fashion Brand to serve the needs ofthe contemporary globe.
Naming our brand
Since we are fond of nature and wildlife, we always wanted to name our brand that resonates with it. That’s when we thought of naming it after an animal that is versatile yet elegant.
But, we once more struggled to select a lovely animal to represent our company. A name that shares the grace, tenderness and culture that our brand stands for and the qualities we strive to infuse into our designs. Thus we gave our brand the name ‘Deer & Doe’.
Deer: Nature, Mythology & Culture
Deer & Doe are graceful and gentle woodland animals.
Deer are associated with elegance and freedom, while
Doe represents nurturing and femininity.
Together, they embody a balance of strength and
gentleness, which is reflected in the ethos of our brand.
Deer also known as ‘Mṛga’ in Sanskrit has roots in
ancient Indian history & mythology. According to
Aitareya Upanishad, deer are revered in Hindu
mythology because the goddess Saraswati is said to
have taken the form of a deer.
